Responsibilities:

• Strategize to find cost-effective deals and suppliers
• Develop and implement best practice purchasing vision, strategy, policies, processes, and procedures to aid and improve business performance
• Manage current procurement policies, procedures, and programs with a focus on their ability to enhance organizational value and efficiency; meet regularly with respective departments regarding procurement for their understanding and/or recommendations to enhance policies, and procedures and develop, communicate, and implement new/revised policies, procedures and programs as needed
• Ensure all relevant documentation related to procurement/contracting function is in accordance with company policy and procedures
• Lead rigorous and objective contract/cost negotiations with contractors and vendors to achieve desired cost and quality objectives
• Collaborate with foreign suppliers to assure cost, quality, and delivery targets are met
• Seek and partner with reliable vendors and suppliers
• Develop, implement, and maintain a supplier relationship and evaluation process to measure effective supplier performance and compliance
• Conduct (or Manages the process for) the evaluations of proposals, offers, and bids in accordance with internal policy and external local, state, and federal regulations while selecting the best supplier in accordance with requirements
• Management of procurement staff in (and across) sourcing, contracting, transactional purchasing, supplier management, and miscellaneous internal procurement support activities
• Ensure that the function operates in accordance with any health, safety, and environmental policies and procedures to ensure the safety and well-being of staff and visitors

Qualifications and Requirements:

• Professional degree in engineering/economics/logistics/supply chain management or Procurement. Certified supply chain professionals will be given preference
• At least 10 years of relevant experience, including a minimum of five years in a leading role
• Specialized knowledge of local and international procurement
• Strong commitment to safety, environment, and security policies
• Possess high standards of ethics and exercise transparency in actions
• Strong negotiating skills with the ability to engage and advise senior stakeholders
• Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
• Contracts management and effective supplier relationship management skills
• Proven commercial acumen across varied goods and services spending portfolios with a strong understanding of commercial terms
